Description/Interesting Notes:
An incredible, rare locality example of emerald from Nevada!!! I want to start out by saying that
these digital pictures show the specimen as being somewhat bluish (a known problem with photographing emeralds), however, this specimen is GREEN in person, with absolutely no hint of aquamarine color!!! In
person there is no question that this is an emerald!!! This specimen consists of a complex compound crystal of emerald with a small amount of
matrix in association!!! This specimen has bright glassy luster, with sharp faces, and marked translucence!!!
Upon close examination, the specimen appears to be partially terminated as well!!! The color is a light, but undeniable, emerald green!!! This is absolutely
the best example of the species I have seen from Nevada!!! This is truly a magnificent, rare Nevada emerald!!! This old time specimen is from
the collection of A.W. Pinner (one time head chemist at Franklin, NJ) and the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum!!! This specimen is
way better than the pics show!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY APRIL 21st!!!
