Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely stunning example of emerald from this classic and historic locale!!! This specimen was initially imbedded in a biotite schist matrix but I carefully cleaned it off and was stunned to find what a magnificent gem it was!!! While one end is somewhat amorphous, the other is actually partially terminated!!! The crystal faces are sharp and lustrous as well!!! This is perhaps one of the most impressive Austrian emeralds I have seen in terms of color - and with marked clarity as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
