Description/Interesting Notes: A large and impressive old time example of barite from the Hilton Mine!!! This classic specimen consists of a very large cluster of sharp colorless to whitish barite crystals!!! The crystals consists of sharp, lustrous blades and groups of blades that cover both sides of the specimen!!! The Hilton Mine has been closed for decades and is now part of a military installation!!! This specimen was acquired in an old collection and dates to at least the earlier half of the last century!!! There is some minor damage here and there, however this specimen displays fantastically regardless (and could easily be trimmed into smaller and totally pristine specimens as well!)!!!
