Ephesite Glossen mine, Postmasburg manganese field, Northern Cape Province, South Africa 5.42cm x 3.56cm x 3.02cm

Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely magnificent example of this rare species from South Africa!!! This specimen consists of a dense cluster of gemmy, euhedral crystals of ephesite on a small amount of contrasting manganese-rich matrix!!! The crystals are sharply defined and range in size up to a whopping 1.3cm!!! The main crystal has remarkable gemminess which, combined with its thickness and intense color makes for an impressive display indeed (it could actually yeild a significant gem for a rare gemstone collector)!!! Simply a killer example of this rare species!!! The pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! This specimen retains an old Filer's label as well!!!
