A fantastic example of this very rare species from Finland!!! This specimen hosts a sharp single crystal of
darkly colored eskolaite prominently perched on a matrix of golden sulfides!!! The crystal has sharp, lustrous faces and
measures an impressive 6.5mm!!! Upon close inspection with a
loupe or scope, one can see some tiny crystals of chrome green uvarovite garnet to 1mm scattered about areas of the matrix as well!!!
This specimen has an old label from the University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum and affixed catalogue number!!! This specimen
retains an additional old label that notes it was acquired from a H. W. Eckert in Tucson in 1978 (and had a significant price tag for the time too)!!!
Simply a magnificent example of this rare species!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
