Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of this rare species from Franklin!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of esperite in association
with franklinite, willemite, and calcite!!! Nearly all the lighter colored material on this specimen is esperite (as you can see in the UV pics),
while the darkly colored material is franklinite!!! The associated willemite and calcite are present as some scattered
grains and stringers distributed throughout the franklinite!!! Under UV the esperite fluoresces an intense and characteristic yellow!!! The
willemite fluoresces green and the calcite fluoresces red!!! This specimen is from the collection of Thomas J. Campbell, co-author of the Encyclopedia of Minerals and also
retains an old label from the South Dakota School of Mines & Technology!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY APRIL 19th!!!
