Fluorite with Quartz
Le Beix Mine, Saint-Germain-pres-Herment, Herment, Puy-de-Dome, Auvergne, France
4.8cm x 3.5cm x 2.5cm
Ex. Bureau de Recherches Geologiques et Minieres (BRGM)
Ex. Tony Nikischer Collection
Description/Interesting Notes:
A classic example of fluorite from this famed French locale!!! This specimen consists of a highly complex crystal of
near colorless fluorite perched atop of matrix of multicolored fluorite covered by a thin coating of tiny quartz points!!! Although the
main crystal has some damage, much of the features are actually highly complex modifications on the edges!!! Upon
close inspection these modifications are simply incredible!!! The crystal has brilliant, glassy luster and gemmy clarity!!!
The multicolor fluorite matrix shows concentric areas of blue-green and purple color (much more distinct in person)!!!
The main crystal makes contact with the underlying multicolor fluorite which gives it a bluish hue at certain angles!!! Very handsome in person!!!
This specimen originally came from the Bureau de Recherches Geologiques et Minieres (BRGM) in France and retains its original BRGM label as well!!!
This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of
Tony Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
