Description/Interesting Notes:
A unique example of fluorite on galena from Tri-State!!! This speicmen consists of a cubic galena crystal that hosts a rich
showing of curiously formed fluorite crystals!!! The galena crystal has bright metallic luster with
complexly stepped features and modifications!!! The fluorite crystals have rich golden color and gemmy clarity!!! Although
they might appear from a distance to be something other than fluorite, they are absolutely fluorite crystals!!! The
fluorite crystals have highly complex cubo-octahedral habits that almost appear rounded!!! Upon close inspection one
can see that the fluorite crystals have fine crystalline details and striations!!! The crystals have a very
lively appearance due to their gemmy clarity and the reflective surface of the underlying galena!!!
This specimen is in fantstic condition and displays gorgeously in person!!! This specimen retains
a Fred Jones Collection - Franklin Mineral Museum label as well!!! While galena specimens from Tri-State are common, fluorite
specimens are seldom encountered, however this unique old time specimen is labelled as coming from Tri State!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
