Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic, old time example of fluorite from Germany!!! This specimen consists of a large cluster of intergrown cubic fluorite crystals!!! The crystals are actually golden yellow in color, however they host striking red phantoms just below their surfaces!!! In addition to the red phantoms, there are numerous brilliant crystals of chalcopyrite included as well!!! The crystals faces are smooth and glassy - every chalcopyrite crystal is included just below the surface!!! The chalcopyrite crystals have sharp pyramidal habits and - curiously - there are numerous crystals that appear to be partially dissolved, leaving complex partial outlines behind!!! The overall aesthetics of this specimen are quite striking in person - the pictures simply don't capture just how unique this old time fluorite is!!! This is an incredible specimen indeed!!! There is some minor damage, but as you can see, they do not detract at all!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! This specimen is from the A.J. Beres collection!!!
