Description/Interesting Notes:
A wonderfully aesthetic and very unusual example of fluorite and chalcopyrite from Peru!!! This specimen
consists of a cluster of colorful purple, botryoidal fluorite crystals in aesthetic association with
brilliant, golden crystals of chalcopyrite!!! The fluorite crystals have glassy luster, almost gemmy
translucent clarity, and gorgeous purple color!!! The color is WAY better than the pics show!!!
The luster and clarity are incredibly fine for a botryoidal fluorite (often times the complex habit results in
poor clarity and luster)!!! While the botryoidal crystals exhibits characteristic, bubbly, rounded forms there
are a few areas where one can see a couple discernable, slightly rounded cubic faces!!! The
chalcopyrite crystals have highly complex habits with brilliant golden metallic luster!!! This specimen
is very unusual and is incredibly eye-catching in person!!! Curiously, there are a couple
tiny areas of unidentified, bluish mineralization in a couple areas as well!!! Simply incredible, aesthetic material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer and retains an
original collection label as well!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer
and there are going to be some very exciting minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY NOVEMBER 1st!!!
