Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent old time example of fluorite from Canada!!! This specimen consists of a striking cluster of large cubo-octahedral
crystals of mint green fluorite!!! The fluorite crystals are sharp and undamaged with complex lustrous faces!!! The crystals range
in size to 10cm!!! The crystals have marked translucence and have slightly differently colored cores that have a very faint purplish hue!!!
This is a killer old time Madoc fluorite indeed - the pics don't even come close to capturing just how striking and lively it is in person!!!
This specimen had been in the University of Rochester Museum of Natural History's collection prior to winding up in Herb Obodda's collection!!!
Curiously, throughout that time it had been labelled as coming from New York, however after conferring with several experts it has been determined
that this specimen is absolutely old time material from Madoc!!! That being said, it still retains old labels
and affixed catalogue numbers that attest to its history!!! This specimen has much richer color than the pics show!!! The
specimen is in fantastic condition all around and is a very showy old time beauty indeed!!!
Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
