Description/Interesting Notes:
A most peculiar and unique example of fluorite with marcasite and chalcopyrite from the Annabel Lee Mine!!! This specimen consists of a
cluster of glowing, golden fluorite crystals that host a most spectacular growth of marcasite and chalcopyrite crystals!!! The marcasite is
present as peculiar crystalline tubes that exhibit all manner of curly, curvaceous, and tapering forms!!! Upon close study, one can see that
these "tubes" are indeed comprised of tiny crystals!!! Thes tubes are actually quite stable and sturdy despite their delicate appearance!!! The
chalcopyrite crystals are present only directly on the faces of the fluorite crystals and are more golden and mirror-brilliant than the marcasite tubes!!! The
chalcopyrite crystals make for a showy contrast from the marcasite crystals and, more importantly, highlight the edges and cubic forms of the underlying
crystals of golden yellow fluorite!!! This is a magnificent and incredibly unique specimen indeed!!! This specimen retains an older dealer label as
well as A.E. Seaman Museum notation!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY DECEMBER 16th!!!
