Description/Interesting Notes:
A terrific, old time example of these rare and highly sought after uranium-bearing species from Gabon!!! This
specimen hosts a rich showing of bright orange fracevillite crystals in association with smoky blades of chervetite,
bright yellow curienite, and dark brownish mounanite crystals!!! The francevillite
is present as balls of sharply defined, intergrown crystals that show marked luster and bright orange color - the
crystals are quite fine and "blocky" upon close inspection (way better than the pics show)!!! The
chervetite is present as complex, smoky colored, bladed crystals scattered about the matrix!!! The
curienite is present as bright yellow microcrystals and crusts and the mounanite is present as
dark brownish crystals that are quite well formed and show marked luster upon close inspection!!! This is a
fantastic example of these prized rare species!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
This specimen originally came from the Bureau de Recherches Geologiques et Minieres (BRGM) in France!!!
This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer and retains its original personal collection label!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer
