Description/Interesting Notes: A rare example of franklinite and willemite from Zambia!!! Usually specimens of franklinite are seen only from the famed co-type localities in New Jersey!!! Examples of franklinite from other worldwide localities are quite scarce and seldom encountered!!! This specimen consists of massive translucent gray willemite that hosts a rich distribution of jet-black crystals of franklinite to just over 1mm!!! The franklinite crystals exhibit the classic octahedral forms as well as more complex stepped and modified habits that are quite intruiging under close examination!!! Like the Franklin material this willemite fluoresces a vivid yellow-green under UV!!! This is a very rare, and particularly fine, example of franklinite from a locality outside New Jersey!!!
