Description/Interesting Notes: An unusual and remarkable old time example of gahnite and spessartine garnet from Brazil!!! This specimen hosts numerous highly complex, compressed crystals of lively orange spessartine garnet in association with deep green crystals of gahnite spinel!!! The gahnite crystals are sharp, glassy, and gemmy, with unique deep green color!!! The spessartine garnets are quite unusual indeed - upon close inspection they are crystalline!!! In addition to the spessartine and gahnite crystals, there are numerous small, somewhat altered crystals of microlite and numerous significant crystals of pink translucent lepidolite!!! This specimen is WAY better than the pictures show!!! This is a very unusual and unique example of these gem species from an uncommon locality!!! This specimen is from the personal collection of Bob Jenkins (who resided in Brazil for years) and retains his original label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
