Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely incredible example of galena from this classic locale!!! This specimen hosts what are easily the most crystallographically
remarkable examples of the species I have ever seen!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of intergrown galena crystals that
exhibit complexly modified forms that I literally do not have the vocabulary to technically describe!!! The crystals appear as
almost rounded octahedrons - many of which appear to be interpenetrant twins - that have truncated corners and in some cases
concave features!!! To examine the crystals closely in person they are simply amazing!!! The crystals are sharp, lustrous, and in fantastic
condition all around!!! This is a killer, old time beauty indeed (I am told that this is the true "steinmannite" galena of 19th century Pribram)!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen
PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting minerals to
come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Prior to the Nikischer collection this specimen was originally
from the collection of Florence Mecke (acquired from the late 1930's until the 1970's)!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JANUARY 17th!!!
