A gorgeous specimen of galena with sphalerite, chalcopyrite, and dolomite from Missouri!!! This specimen consists of a
matrix of sphalerite crystals hosting a single striking galena crystal and accented by golden chalcopyrite and white rhombs of
dolomite!!! The galena crystal consists of a sharp cubo-octahedral crystal with fantastic geometric surface features and bright
metallic luster!!! The sphalerite crystals consist of a plate of intergrown balls of lustrous platy crystals dotted by small
golden chalcopyrite crystals and accented by white rhombs of dolomite along the perimeter and on the reverse!!! Way better in person!!!
Wolfgang Pohl worked in the mining industry in Namibia in the 70s and 80s and was a prolific
collector and dealer during and after this time!!! He would make trips back and forth to his
native Germany trading specimens he had acquired in Africa for worldwide specimens!!! Pohl
was rather meticulous with his labeling and record keeping with most of the specimens in the
collection having catalogue numbers, label with info on locale, source/dealer info,
acquisition date, and any other relevant notes!!! However, the most interesting feature is
that most of the labels also had a small sketch of the specimen on the reverse side as well!!!
