A fantastic old time classic chalcocite from Connecticut. This handsome specimen comes from the famous Bristol Copper Mine, that first opened in 1802 and ceased operations in 1953. This specimen shows many sharply defined crystals, the largest of which is .6"! The pseudohexagonal cyclic twinning of the chalcocite crystals is quite well-displayed in the largest crystal as well. All in all, an amazing classic specimen from a long closed famous Connecticut locale, with great provenance!
