A spectacular cluster of intensely brilliant crystallized gold. The front of this specimen hosts a sizable area of intricate gold crystals. The crystals form a complex and delicate network of bushy wire-like crystals. In addition, there are also several crystals that differentiate themselves by being somewhat plate-like in nature. The fine bushy wires of gold are very well crystallized, which makes for a brilliant, intensely sparkly display! These fine crystals are simply amazing when viewed up close, or with any magnification. Perhaps the most interesting feature of this specimen is that the largest broad plate-like crystal appears to be a well formed hexagonal crystal. In addition to the brilliant sparkling of the gold, there is also a fine druze of microcrystalline quartz that compliments the gold. The Olinghouse Mine is closed, and specimens are becoming increasingly difficult to obtain. This sizable and showy specimen is pristine and free from damage. If you have not seen material from this sought-after locale in person, you are certainly missing out. The brilliant patina and delicate crystallization are second to none!
