An absolutely incredible langite specimen from this seldom represented French locale in the ancient iron mining district of Framont-Grandfontaine. This specimen consists of beautiful botryoidal forms of small, bladed langite crystals. The langite ranges in color from a brilliant turquoise blue to robin's egg, baby, and sky blue with hints of green. The amazing coloration varies in proportion to the relief of the botryoidal crystal groups, creating a marvelously aesthetic appearance that absolutely needs to be appreciated in person. There are also numerous small colorless crystals, believed to be gypsum, located in several areas on the specimen that have radial and bowtie-type habits. This specimen is simply amazing in every regard! A magnificent specimen with superb aesthetics and provenance!
