An incredible example of this very rare Platinum Arsenide. This specimen has intense mirror-like brilliance and razor sharp form. Aside from native platinum, this is the only other economically important ore of platinum. This extraordinary specimen consists of an intensely brilliant.45” x. 45” sperrylite crystal, aesthetically perched atop the brassy mooihoekite/talnakhite/chalcopyrite matrix. In addition, there are several magnetite crystals associated with the specimen, with the largest and most well defined crystal group jutting out from the center of the large sperrylite crystal. The reverse side of this specimen shows two large areas of sperrylite that are both .4”. All of the areas of brilliantly shining sperrylite on the reverse side of this specimen appear to be the remnants of larger metacrystals of sperrylite.
