Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of these rare germanium-bearing species from Tsumeb!!! This specimen consists of a mass of germaite and reinerite in
an almost "half & half" distribution!!! On one side of the specimen one can clearly see that one half of the specimen has a pronounced orange metallic
hue characteristic of the reinerite and the other half has the purplish magenta hue characteristic of germanite!!! The color and division is much, much, more
pronounced and apparent in person!!! In addition, there are some small cavities that host small sub-millimeter crystals!!! Usually species associated with such
matrix are rare!!! The crystals are tabular and lustrous and to my eye are certainly not a "common" species (they look like beudantite)!!! The pics
hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
