Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic example of these rare germanium-bearing species from Tsumeb!!! This specimen
consists of a mass of germaite combined with renierite!!! On
one side of the specimen one can clearly see the pronounced
orange metallic hue characteristic of the renierite and on the other side, the purplish
magenta hue characteristic of germanite!!! The colors are much, much, more
pronounced and apparent in person!!! In addition, there are some areas that host
small sub-millimeter crystals!!! Usually species associated with such matrix are rare!!! The
crystals are tabular and very lustrous and to my eye are certainly not a "common" species (they
look like beudantite)!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
