A rare, old time example of "gigantolite" from Germany!!! This specimen consists of a cordierite crystal that has been replaced by pinite (in this instance, supposedly
a combination of muscovite and biotite)!!! This unusual old timer hosts what appear to be to conjoined crystals on a small amount of matrix!!! The crystals have a
very slightly iridescent luster to the terminal faces!!! The specimen is not repaired, the crack is a completely natural feature!!! This specimen retains
old affixed labels and an old Schortmann's label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
