Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific, old time example of native gold from this classic Colorado locale!!! This specimen hosts numerous tiny crystals of buttery yellow native gold included in quartz!!! There is an appreciable amount of richly colored golden chalcopyrite and brassy pyrite in association - providing a good lesson in visual recognition of these sometimes confused species!!! Just to make things clear, the side of the specimen that hosts a lot of darkly colored sphalerite hosts mostly chalcopyrite and very little gold!!! This specimen is from the Colorado Suite of the Jenkins Collection and retains its original label!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
