Description/Interesting Notes:
A classic, old time example of native gold from Colorado!!! This specimen is cut and polished on both sides and hosts a
characteristic showing of native gold in a matrix of quartz, galena, sphalerite, and chalcopyrite!!! In addition to the
native gold visible on the polished surface, there is some crystalline native gold present on the side of the specimen!!! Upon
close inspection, these are some of the most incredible crystals of native gold I have seen - they are WAY better than
you can see in the pics!!! The crystals have RAZOR sharp, brilliantly lustrous faces and a handsome reddish patina!!! The crystals are
so fine that I had to remove a tiny one to test its physical properties since it looked so much like a chalcopyrite crystal -
of course the specimen proved to be native gold quite to my delight!!! This is classic, old time material!!!
