Native Gold

Musick mine, Lane Co., Oregon

8.3cm x 6.56cm x 3.24cm

Ex. Robert E. Jenkins II Collection No. 3125

Description/Interesting Notes:

A rare example of native gold from this old time locality!!! This specimen consists of a quartz matrix that hosts a significant showing of native gold!!! Although much of the native gold is concentrated on one area of the matrix, there are several other areas of native gold scattered about the matrix as well!!! Upon close examination one can see highly complex, crystalline features present on the native gold!!! This specimen is from the Musick Mine, specimens from this historic late 19th century locality are quite scarce indeed!!! This specimen retains an old label from the personal collection of Bob Jenkins!!! Bob had a significant and impressive collection of native gold specimens from historic and rare localities!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
