Description/Interesting Notes:
A showy and unique example of native gold from this seldom referenced Australian locality!!! This specimen consists of a rigid, sheet-like crystal of brilliant
native gold!!! While this specimen might at first appear to be a simple, leaf-like sheet of native gold - it is actually a highly complex crystal!!! Upon
close inspection one can see numerous trigons and complex striations on the brilliantly lustrous faces!!! When the
light is at a certain angle, one can see minute silvery epitaxial growths
on the surface as well!!! In person these are more difficult to see, however under a loupe or scope one can see that they are
actually silver in color (a very interesting feature indeed - I would love to get them analyzed)!!! All in all this is a very impressive and unique example
of native gold from Australia!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
