Description/Interesting Notes:
A very rare, old time example of native gold from North Carolina!!! This specimen
consists of a pyrite matrix that hosts several significant
areas of native gold scattered throughout!!! The largest single portion of native gold measures well over 3mm and is prominently positioned on the
matrix!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope there are numerous areas of native gold to be seen scattered throughout the entire specimen!!! There
are also numerous tiny crystals of pyrite scattered around the massive pyrite matrix!!! This is an OLD specimen and specimens from this historic,
Charlotte-area mine are exceedingly rare!!! This specimen is from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum and
retains several old labels that date it well into the 19th century!!! Don't miss out on this rare and valuable old timer!!!
