Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic group of unusual native gold crystals from this seldom referenced Australian locality!!! This is a group of
seven individual specimens!!! These crystals consist of rigid, sheet-like crystals of brilliant native gold!!! While these
specimens might at first appear to be a simple, leaf-like sheets of native gold - the are actually highly complex crystals!!!
Upon close inspection one can see complex crystalline features on the brilliantly lustrous faces - including all kinds of
striations, unusual growth features, raised trigons, and more!!! Additionally, some of the crystals exhibit some small,
curious areas of an unidentified metallic silver mineral!!! When the light is at a certain angle, one can see these
minute, super-thin, silvery epitaxial growths on the surface of the native gold!!! In person these are more difficult
to see, however under a loupe or scope one can see that they are actually silver in color (a very interesting feature
indeed - certainly worthy of analysis)!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
