Native Gold with Cubanite & Quartz Morro Velho mine, Nova Lima, Iron Quadrangle, Minas Gerais, Brazil 9.84cm x 7.4cm x 3cm

Description/Interesting Notes: An absolutely incredible example of native gold from Brazil!!! Although this specimen does not host large crystals of native gold - they are absolutely amazing with regard to their sharpness, complextity, and perfection!!! Although the crystals are millimeter-sized, they are eye visible and exhibit razor-sharp, textbook perfect form!!! The largest crystal is also the most prominently perched - it exhibits unbelievable, highly complex, soccer-ball like form (dodecahedral? tetrahexahedral? etc)!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope these crystals will knock your socks off!!! In addition to the native gold crystals (there are at least 3 significant crystals with some additional minute grains scattered about the specimen), there are numerous complex crystals of cubanite, as well as some small pyrrhotite crystals, scattered among gemmy fine quartz crystals!!! The cubanite crystals are present as highly complex, elongated, blade-like crystals with iridescent metallic patina!!! These crystals are quite impressive in and of themselves upon close inspection!!! In person there are loads of small cubanite crystals, in association with small blades of pyrhottite as well!!! There is even a crystal growing ON one of the native gold crystals!!! Simply incredible material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
