A rare example of native gold from the White Oaks district in New Mexico!!! This specimen hosts several brilliant crystals of native gold on matrix
in association with highly complex and etched colorless fluorite crystals!!! The gold is present as crystals and as small grains
scattered about the matrix!!! There is one unusual 5mm gold crystal that, at first appears to be a wire, but upon close examination one can see that it is
actually a dramatically elongated spinel twin!!! The fluorite crystals on the front appear to be complex, etched, and altered in some curious way while the
crystals on the reverse exhibit the same complexity and etching, but have none of the curious alteration!!! A rare and unusual locality specimen indeed!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!!
