Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare locality example of native gold from Alabama!!! This specimen consists of a combination of altered limonite and quartz that hosts
several small areas of buttery yellow native gold!!! The gold is present on a small area on the broad face of the specimen on the
limonite and also as small network of masses within the limonite as well!!! This specimen came from a large portion of matrix and likely more gold could
be revealed by splitting apart the limonite (as was done in this case)!!! This specimen retains a very old label from the Michigan Mining School (currently
A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum) as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
