Native Gold Cripple Creek District, Teller Co., Colorado 1.28cm x 1.15cm x .64cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of native gold from this historic Colorado locality!!! This specimen hosts numerous areas of highly complex crystalline native gold on a quartz matrix!!! The gold has a gorgeous, unique patina that has a distinct reddish iridescence with orange and blue iridescent highlights!!! The iridescence and crystalline features are much more apparent upon close examination in person!!! Under close inspection with a loupe or scope these crystals are incredible with very unique and curious features!!! There are some minute grains of unidentified telluride species on the reverse as well!!! Examples of native gold (other than the "roasted" examples of telluride ore) from this locality are quite scarce indeed!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
