Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent example of native gold from this unique locality!!! Nearly every example of native gold
from this locality is an alluvial, floater crystal with no associated matrix!!! We had a friend dealing directly
with the miners at this locality in the hopes of getting a matrix specimen and, after several YEARS, we were finally able to
acquire one!!! Examples of native gold on matrix are extremely rare from this locality!!! This specimen is MOSTLY
native gold by weight, as it hosts a hefty, SOLID crystal with a small amount of light brown matrix!!! The matrix is VERY
hard and hosts minute grains of quartz and other associated minerals (kind of a micro-conglomerate)!!! The crystal has
BRILLIANT metallic luster and a gorgeous, buttery yellow golden hue!!! The crystal is much more sharp than it appears from the pics, with well defined
faces visible all around the specimen!!! The crystal exhibits well defined tetrahexahedral faces in at least two areas as well!!!
The gold from this find is remarkably pure as well,
with some crystals assaying at 99.6% pure!!! Simply an outstanding example of native gold from this unique locality!!! This is a real killer in person!!!
