Description/Interesting Notes:
A terrific example of native gold from Alaska!!! This specimen consists of a quartz matrix that hosts numerous areas of
buttery yellow native gold included within!!! There is one prominent, elongated crystal of native gold that measures well over 1cm
and protrudes from the specimen!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope one can see tiny crystalline features on the native gold!!!
There is some chalcopyrite in association as well as a couple tiny masses of green malachite partially included in the
quartz matrix as well (a curious feature)!!! This specimen retains an old label from the Joe Cilen collection as well as an old label from
Peter Zodac (1894-1967), a one time mining engineer who founded the magazine Rock & Minerals in 1926!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED
