Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of native gold in calcite from California!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of brilliant, buttery yellow native gold on and included in a calcite matrix!!! The native gold is present on all sides of the specimen and has bright, brilliant metallic luster and rich golden color!!! The calcite matrix has a slight translucence and, upon close inspection with a loupe or scope one can see some submillimeter crystals of pyrite present in a few zones in the calcite matrix!!! This specimen retains an old label from A.L. McGuinness as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
