Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific, old time example of native gold from this seldom referenced Canadian locale!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of brilliantly metallic native gold in association with arsenopyrite!!! The native gold is present as brilliant, buttery yellow, hackly masses protruding from the matrix as well as masses and veins included within the matrix!!! The arsenopyrite is present as subhedral masses embedded within the matrix!!! There is a small amount of pyrite as well as another unidentified species!!! This specimen is simply amazing upon close study!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be some very exciting minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Prior to the Nikischer collection this specimen was originally from the collection of Florence Mecke (acquired from the late 1930's until the 1970's)!!! Old material!!!
