Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare and historic example of "wire gold" from the famed Farncomb Hill in Colorado!!! This specimen consists of a showy, aesthetic
tangle of complex crystalline gold "wires"!!! The native gold has a striking, somewhat unique patina and hue that is quite characteristic
in person!!! Upon close inspection there are some tiny, sharp cubic crystals of pyrite delicately perched on a few of the wire crystals!!!
This specimen is very showy for its size!!! These old time Farncomb Hill gold specimens are highly sought after and nearly
IMPOSSIBLE to acquire!!! This specimen has been mounted on an acrylic base for display (although it could be removed if so desired of course)!!! The pics don't
even come close to doint it justice!!! This specimen is from the Grandy collection and retains a label that has notation that
dates it to the 1930's!!! Don't miss out on this rare and valuable old timer!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 26th!!!
