Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of native gold from Colorado!!! This specimen consists of a brilliant, rigid, leaf-like crystal of native gold in association with
a group of sphalerite crystals!!! The native gold is actually quite well crystallized, with highly complex features and sharp edges!!! The
faces have brilliant golden metallic luster and a rich, buttery yellow hue!!! While the broad faces might appear to be "rough" from a distance, upon close inspection one can see that
these are actually sharply defined, raised trigons that dot the surfaces!!! The finely crystallized nature of this specimen is simply amazing when
viewed with a loupe or scope!!! This sphalerite crystals on the reverse are actually rather nice as well - the pics simply don't capture the fact that they are
actually very well formed and in fantastic condition - the sphalerite crystals actually have a significant two-tone coloration with dark areas and very light areas with
marked clarity!!! The pics hardly do this rare old timer justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 2nd!!!
