Description/Interesting Notes:
A rich, rare example of native gold with melonite and calaverite from the type locality in California!!! This specimen
hosts a rich showing of bright yellow metallic native gold in association with a significant showing of
bright, silvery melonite and highly complex, intergrown crystals of calaverite!!! The
native gold is present as thick, hackly forms with areas of highly complex crystallization!!! The melonite is present
as chunky, complex silvery masses that show small areas of brilliantly lustrous cleavage and, upon close inspection
with a loupe or scope one can see the characteristic parting of the intergrown sheet-like crystals!!! The calaverite is
present as highly complex crystalline forms intergrown with the melonite and native gold that exhibit silvery metallic
luster with distinct golden tint!!! This is a very rich specimen from the type locality for both melonite and calaverite!!!
Classic rare material!!! A significant California specimen indeed!!!
