Description/Interesting Notes:
An incredible, old time example of native gold var. electrum from Nevada!!! This specimen consists of a quartz and and altered limonite matrix that
hosts numerous tiny crystals of native gold var. electrum scattered about!!! While the crystals are small - under 1mm, they are some of the
most impressive examples of native gold crystals I have seen in some time!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe, one can see that these crystals are discreet, complete crystals
with sharp faces and brilliant luster!!! While there are one or two groups of crystals, most of them are single crystals that appear to be terminated all around!!! Some
of the crystals literally look like crystal models when viewed with a loupe or a scope!!! It is truly a marvel - they are really something special when viewed with magnification!!!
I have never seen such impressive examples of crystalline electrum!!! This is an old time specimen from a seldom referenced locality as well!!!
This specimen is from the personal collection of Bob Jenkins and retains his original
personal collection label as well!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 19th!!!
