Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of native gold from Nevada!!! This specimen consists of a very unusual example of native gold in association with a combination of native copper, cuprite, and goldfieldite!!! There is a significant showing of native gold present on the specimen's broad face and, upon close inspection with a loupe or scope, one can see other tiny areas of native gold scattered throughout the specimen!!! What makes this specimen truly unusual however is that there is a significant association of a combination of native copper, cuprite, and goldfieldite!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or a scope one can see some subhedral features of the associated goldfieldite in some areas and that it appears that all of the associated material appears to be in various stages of alteration (perhaps native copper/cuprite after goldfieldite?)!!! Rare and unusual old time material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!!
