Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent, old time example of native gold and petzite from California!!! This specimen hosts a signficant showing of native gold
in association with a rich vein of darkly colored petzite!!! This specimen weighs a hefty 73 grams and no doubt has a significant gold
content - this is a valuable specimen based on that alone!!! In person, the richness of the gold can be seen to be much more significant
than the pictures show!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope, one can see numerous areas of actual submillimeter crystals of
petzite!!! There is a significant amount of petzite present, nearly all of the darkly colored material is petzite!!! The broad face of the specimen that
hosts a large area of native gold surrounded by darkly colored petzite - in person one can see that there is much more gold present intermixed
with the hessite!!! This is OLD
material!!! There is some calcite present in the matrix and more gold and petzite could easily be exposed if so desired!!! This specimen
also retains an old label as well!!!
