Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific, old time example of native gold and pyrite from this seldom referenced locale!!! This specimen retains an old museum label that gives the locality simply as "Southern Rhodesia" which is current day Zimbabwe!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of bright, buttery yellow native gold in association with brassy pyrite crystals included in a quartz matrix!!! The specimen has been cut on both sides and has a finely polished display face!!! The quartz has marked translucence, which allows one to see the network of gold inclusions glowing brightly within!!! The native gold appears to partially encapsulate some of the pyrite crystals!!! Unique old time material from this uncommon locale!!! This specimen retains an old museum label as well!!!
