Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of native gold with pyrolusite from California!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of very well crystallized native gold in a matrix of jet-black botryoidal pyrolusite!!! Upon close inspection the crystals of native gold are simply incredible - showing all manner of sharply defined crystals including simple cubes as well as highly complex crystals!!! The native gold has bright metallic brilliance and a bright golden hue!!! The bright golden crystals stand out in dramatic contrast from the black pyrolusite matrix!!! This is OLD material that likely dates to the late 1800's!!! Very unusual material from this seldom represented locale!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection of Tony Nikischer!!!
