Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of greenockite from Bolivia!!! This specimen was collected by Sam Gordon during the famed
Vaux expeditions to Bolivia in 1929 on behalf of the Academy of Natural Sciences of Philadelphia!!! This specimen
hosts a terrific showing of sharp, well-formed reddish submillimeter crystals of greenockite on a matrix of darkly
colored cassiterite in association with a small amount of quartz and pale greenish wavellite!!! While the crystals are
submillimeter in size, they are incredible examples of the species!!! Upon close examination with a loupe or
scope, the crystals are simply amazing!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
