A classic example of grossular garnet from the Pitts Tenney Quarry in Maine!!! This specimen hosts a large single grossular crystal atop a
small amount of greenish massive diopside matrix!!! The crystal is sharp, glassy, and has lively orange-brown color!!! Specimens from this
locality are usually quite damaged and incomplete!!! Despite the edgewear, this is a rather handsome specimen for the locality!!! This specimen
retains an old Leavitt collection label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
