Description/Interesting Notes: A gorgeous, old time example of hessonite garnet from Italy!!! This specimen hosts a classic trio in a most aesthetic combination - complex, pristine crystals of gemmy dark red hessonite garnet, colorless diopside, and deep green clinochlore crystals!!! The hessonite garnet crystals have rich deep red color, razor-sharp faces, brilliant glassy luster, and gemmy clarity!!! The diopside crystals have marked translucence, glassy luster, and a slightly greenish tint in areas!!! The clinochlore crystals are present as significant hexagonal groupings with slightly pearly luster and deep, emerald green color!!! The specimen is very showy in person!!! This old time beauty is in magnificent condition and displays fantastically!!! There is an unidentified old label affixed to the specimen and the specimen retains an old, turn of the century label from prominent French mineral dealer Alexandre Stuer!!!
