Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of grossular garnet with diopside from the Jeffrey Mine!!! This specimen consists of a thin plate of diopside crystals that hosts numerous crystals of sharp, gemmy, peach colored grossular crystals!!! This specimen retains its original label from the Schlicter collection with detailed notes indicating that this specimen was obtained from Frank Spertini (retired Jeffrey Geologist) during a visit to the quarry!!!
